Deep Cleaning vs. Basic Cleaning: Which One Does Your Home Need?

A basic clean and a deep clean aren't two prices for the same thing. A basic clean maintains a home that's already in good shape. A deep clean resets a home that has fallen behind. Knowing which one you need saves you money and gets better results.

A basic clean covers the surfaces you use every day: dusting, vacuuming, mopping, wiping kitchen counters and the stovetop, and cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms. Done weekly or every other week, it keeps buildup from forming in the first place.

A deep clean goes after the buildup that's already there. That means baseboards, door frames, light switches, cabinet fronts, light fixtures, the inside of the oven and microwave, and the grout and fixtures in the bathroom. It takes longer because every room is detailed, not just tidied.

If your home hasn't had a professional clean in the last few months, start with a deep clean. After that, a regular basic clean keeps it at that level, and an occasional deep clean, at the change of seasons or before hosting, brings it back to a full reset.
